Namaste from Kathmandu,
The power is on tonight for a few hours and we have internet access. The last few days since the earthquake have been active and productive. Everyone is sleeping outside in tents or under tarps. Even thought a bit frightened by the continued earthquakes/aftershocks, the kind and gentle spirit of the Nepalese have made the relief efforts run smoothly.
My priorities have been to look after the short term needs for those affected most and receiving the least aid. Mid to long term solutions and assessing needs for Communitere to come in and do what they do best. Working with Unicef on geo mapping utilizing my drone (Phyllis) to capture difficult to reach locations for search/rescue teams. Dronation at work.
Finally, I can’t thank you all enough for the encouragement and support. Because of you, you've raised nearly $20,000 (and still coming in) to support grass roots organizations who are here trying to make a difference and can really use the extra help.
I am humbled and filled with gratitude.
